This meeting gets better every year,a few years ago it was all about the National but now the supporting races really are top class.
I'm a big Kauto Star fan but this race seems a bit of an after thought after Cheltenham, and horses that have had a hard race in the Gold Cup tend to stuggle in this and imo 6-1 about Exotic Dancer is massive. I also fancy Kicks For Free,Katarino and Leslingtaylor all at decent prices.

sigh..Kauto star will NEVER get beaten by Exotic Dancer...never ....ever.

interesting lay could be Inglis Drever though. a flat track like Aintree and his usual Flat spot could mean someone steals a march on him that's just too big. I went through his form yesterday as i thought it was suspect and he's been beaten the last 3 times he came to Aintree (only win was a class 3 in 2003)

Come on lets have a few more thoughts on this please.

First race i'm going to leave as Inglis is poor odds for a horse without a great record on the course.
Next up, for me it could be one of the best times to make money on Kauto. Hope i'm not wrong.
15.10 is a tough one for me and again i'll probably leave it as the odds are a bit too short for me
15.45 I don't likeThisthatandtother but i don't know who to back
Then i reckon Lennon, Franchoek and probably Junior.

Any ideas appreciated

It's a tricky days racing indeed.

I would lay Drever in the first (I am staying away from the race though but that's the bet i would have if I had to have one)

Second race Kauto will piss it.

3rd race I would be inclined to have a bit EW on First buddy @16's..a very big price on what could be  a very decent sort

4th thisthatandtother is a class above all of these and should win really...but Whitenzo isn't out of this at 16's

5th Desert Quest is WAY too big @ 18's..if he's back to anything like his best  he will get placed...and might win as he was very talented when Paul Nicholls trained him.

and that's it for me...i am not a big Franchoek fan but won't oppose him in the 6th and the 7th is a poor race.

i agree , exotic dancer has gone over the top i think, kauto ran a poor race in gold cup but exotic still couldnt get near him, exotic did make a mistake a few fences from home but he was still beat, monets garden looks the 1 who should run a decent race but i still dont think he will be beat  kauto, the forecast looks the best bet for me,
its best to look at horses who have come out of cheltenham and run well at aintree in the past i think, as boldie says, inglis may well win but i wouldnt be surprised if he got beat today, gaspara has ran well in the past here ,ew but no cert.may be the forecast ,inglis from gaspara,
bambi de l orme looke the best bet for me today, ignore the last run his saddle slipped so he didnt have a race at cheltenham, he won the race last year and likes aintree, he is weighted to beat the main danger lennon,he should  run a great race,
i will have a few interst bets for vallue on a few other races but rest of races are very hard,

I think one thing to remember about this meeting is that it's not the graveyard for horses that ran at the Cheltenham festival like it used to be in former years. There is now three weeks between the two meetings as opposed to the two weeks of a couple of years ago.

I agree with Boldie that Inglis Drever has a terrible record at Aintree, BUT it's run better than ever this season and 11/8 looks huge on paper. I'll probably just watch that race.

I like Binocular in the 3.10pm, so far that's my only bet today.

i agree they do have the extra week to recover but there are some horse who come out of cheltenham with form which looks unbeatable, trouble is they have gone over the top for the rest of the season. a few horses  have no right on form to win but they improve after  cheltenhan and turn the formbook upsidedown, only guide is previous years form,

It's difficult to look past Inglis Drever, Kauto Star & Celestial Halo in the first three races. I also fancy Whiteoak in the 2nd last and if all goes well I'll celebrate with Double Vodka in the last. Chris Grant has been in great form and it might sneak into the places.
Be lucky.

In the first race i have backed Kicks for Free last night Each Way at 6/1 with Paddys the only firm offering 1/4 the odds.

I am going to do a forecast with Blazing Bailey to beat Kicks for Free also.
