£50 freezeout at Luton last night ....5000 chips, 30 minute clock

second level, 50-100, I have 5300

77dave is on the button, I'm SB

extremely loud and loose (in the poker sense) lady raises UTG to 500, passed to me in the SB

I look down at

I call, just hoping for the right flop or else I'm out of there

BB...Greg Amoils/Blondeite completes

Flop

Hello!

there's 1500 in the pot...I make what I want to look like a weak lead of 800

Unexpected;y the BB calls instantly

Foghorn leghorn  UTG, then raises me to 3000 total

OK, no escaping this now, I go allin

BB calls instantly...he's out if he loses the pot

Foghorn calls instantly.down to the felt if she loses the pot..

The cards go on their backs

Name the other two hands, roughly.....

p.s I made the final table, is the clue you are getting

I would say that the big blind is sitting with an A rag spades, maybe a 10, so hes got flush draw possibly with top pair. UTG is sitting with top or middle pair and a face card.

well done Mikky, you are very nearly there

BB had  As ...I don't think his play can be faulted

Foghorn had   ...good enough for a 5x bb raise utg and a re-raise of half her stack on the flop in response to a lead bet out of position and an instant call  >:?

Flipping this up on its arse, I'm trying to analyse what I would do in the foghorn leghorns position. I was looking at this from the angle of being in the cut off with A10. Re-reading, the foghorn is UTG which changes it for me as I'm likely to fold A10 UTG this early on. Certainly if I raise, its 2x or 3x. Not 5!

But anyway, I have position and the flop is a good one for me. Top pair with an ace kicker. SB & BB have both limped, I can assume BB is calling with maginal cards and only because the SB also called (soooooted value call...).

The SB leak out bet is weak, is he probing with bottom or middle pair? Or his he trying to disguise a strong hand with a cheap ass bet. The instant call from the BB screams flush draw with an ace rag, he called the pre-flop raise after all so hes likely to have that kind of marginal hand.

The correct descision here is to raise. Calling would be wrong, and I don't think I can fold top pair without knowing how the SB plays. I think I would go 800 with a further 1600 with the intention of folding to a re-raise. A raise of 800 is too cheap, I have to find out where I am. I don't think there is any way out of this hand unless I am re-raised. SB and BB are both calling.

As it turns out, the SB does re-raise and I can now fold knowing that the SB has trips.

nice post...

to my mind foghorn made at least three mistakes

a) playing the hand in the first place UTG (and could argue size of raise too, and any raise!)
b) raising too much on the flop, committing herself whatever happened
c) the call of two all-ins with TPTK only
