So thats one FA Cup Final and one Champions League Semi Final that probably wont have a single goal in them in about 500 minutes of football.
Crazy game though, solid penalty from Gerrard.

Just got in from what was the most perfect night of football, and a fcking big well done and UL to the arse who made that one of the best games of football I have seen and had the pleasure to be at.
Football, gives everybody something to talk about, you only need to look back at this thread and see how people have changed their minds, one team out then the other was gone..., the great thing about our beautiful game is, it gives you nights like that..
I wish I could have had you all there to see and feel it for yourself..
Liverpool & Arsenal
to giving us a brilliant game...
What he said...Leaving the penalty issue aside this was a great game of footie.
Thought it was a well-taken penalty. In fact it was about the only thing of note Gerrard did in the game.
Gerrard doesnt give me confidence taking penalties, he must have missed at least 5, if not 6 or 7...

Yes, I was packing it. then again, he hasn't missed one for quite a while. He must have balls the size of Uranus though, as he said himself he played very poorly for him, and yet he was confident enough to step up and take a very solid penalty.

geat game, i can understand how arsenal feel over the pens, should of deffo beem a pen first leg, i would of been just as angry if the ref had not given a pen last night, i dont think babel dived, it looked to me as if he did try to stay on his feet, so if the defender makes contact bumping him hard in the back and he goes down, refs got no choice but to give a pen, benitez has took a lot of stick this season over resting players, it seemed to pay off last night, they finished very strong, i cant say ive been that impressed with babel this season but he changed everything when he came on, just hope he can play the way he has promised from now on.
benitez was asked what was the difference between the 2 sides tonight, he said, belief,

I called the first game right with a 1 - 1 draw. I reckon CL football is made for liverpool they are so consistent in this competition. I am going scoucers to win by 2 clear goals.
Just in case anybody missed this first time around!!!

Well played scoucers and good luck in the next round.
Maybe I'm bias but I thought we were better than Liverpool over the 2 games, possibly all 4 games this season but never won one. I thought Liverpool got the 2 big decisions from ref over the tie and maybe if we had got one of them it may have been us go through. Saying that we also had enough decent chances over the 2 games and didn't finish.
I said at the start of the thread I think Wenger got it wrong playing Kolo at RB, not that he is a bad RB but Senderos doesn't cut against the other teams in the top 4. Actually he doesn't cut it against teams in the top half. He gave Hyypia and Torres too much room for their goals.
I really hope that Liverpool can beat Chelsea although I have a sick feeling that Chelsea might win the CL this year, even with Grant in charge. I know that Liverpool have done them in a couple of semis but I think it will be different this time around.

What makes you think the final will be goaless i'm expecting they opposite; no matter what happens it can't be as bad as last years worst game i ever seen.

You played us off the park until Hyypia scored. Then I thought we were playing the better football. We had the rub of the green with the penalty decisions, but surely Wenger can't be right that Hleb's was a definite penalty and yet Babel's was definitely not a penalty? Both could have been given, and both could have been waved away. Maybe the ref last night would have given both, and the ref in the first leg would have given neither?

He was the weak link in your defence. Although I don't think Hyypia has been given enough credit for his goal in the media at all. He worked hard to lose his marker, and then had to direct the header from a good distance out. Dare I say that the ability for an attacker to lose their marker at set pieces is a weakness of man-to-man marking systems?

I think the two games will be better than the previous efforts. I hope we can win, but I reckon it's 50/50 (even if the bookies have them as slight favourites).

I think Liverpool's penalties are all decided pre game by Rafa.
He rotates his panalty takers too I believe.

Gerrard has taken all the penalties this season, when he's been on the pitch.
