Hello everybody

Beginning of a live tournament full ring. freeroll, but the 30 players played seriously. the only thing that I knew about my opponent is that he won one of those freeroll some weeks ago

We all began with 5k chips the blinds were 25/50

a few hands before this one, I had re raised him (UTG+1) from the SB and so I covered him but not a lot.

Now the hand :
He raised from UTG to 150.
All people fold to me
From the button I see  and re raised to 500
SB and BB fold
He called.
Flop :

check check.

Turn :

He checked
I bet 400
He called.

River  .

He checked.

I thank about 2 ways to play now :
1) bet something like 500 and hoping he has a fullhouse
2) Push all in and hoping he has one of the 2 last aces.

In your opinion which of those move has the best EV here?

ok...

it's what I've done and he fold, showing  ...

I asked the question because after that hand, a lot of players on the table said me that I should have choose the other option, saying that some luck is rare, and I should make money with it...

In that spot he checks to you on three streets, so very rare he has the ace, unless he was trying to catch a bluff with a weak ace (if so he bets the river when he fills up) so he clearly had a medium hand he wants to show as cheap as possible. I go for the small value bet here. If he bets into you on the flop or turn, I go for the shove.

JJ might call 500..but any bare Ace will probably call their entire stack off...and that's what you want.
