Hi All,

Looking at going in Dublin in a few weeks with the girlfriend.....

Was wondering what were the better of the hotels listed below.

I want to be near poker (obviously), shops and maybe a tourist attraction or two. (castle / museum).

- Jurys Inn Parnell Street
- The Arlington, O'Connell Bridge
- The Fleet Street Hotel, Temple Bar
- Paramount Hotel
- Comfort Inn Parnell Square
- Comfort Inn Granby Row

Thanks
Steve

I'd avoid Temple Bar digs unless you're real party animals - full of drunks fighting & puking - don't expect to get any sleep until 4am!

This one is especially nice for the price compared to the likes of Jurys:

You can find more detailed information on The Morgan here:

http://www.splendia.com/en/the-morgan-hotel-dublin.html

Paramount Hotel's own website doesn't offer great prices, but you can book them with this site and save a bundle:

http://www.paramount-hotel-dublin.com/

The Arlington Hotel is a good one if you want a bit of entertainment without having to leave your hotel:

http://www.arlington.ie/irish-nights.php

Basically, I wouldn't touch the Comfort Inn with a barge pole.  Jury's is fine, but overpriced for what they offer.  They rely on the fact that many Irish can't be bothered to research via the internet and just book with them as a known name.  Fleet Street is only average and best avoided when compared to the ones mentioned above.

Sooooooooooo, we've narrowed your list down to 2 and added 1 more...just to really confuse you.

Have a look at those 3.  Check out prices for your dates.  Morgan and Paramount are pretty much the same thing, so go with the one offering best price.  There's plenty to do around the city at night to make up for their lack of entertainment at the hotel.  If it's night time entertainment in your hotel you're looking for, as well as decent rooms/service, then go with the Arlington.

Hope that helps, but give a shout if you're still stuck and we'll have another look.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Thats good news Dewi as its the cheapest.......

Arlington - £142 for 2 nights
Paramount - £154 for 2 nights
The Morgan - £218 for 2 nights

and £19.98 for the flights for 2.

Not a bad few days away, just need to book it now then.

Thanks
