any more?
here's a good tip..don't chase your losses...(and don't back anything Crip tips.
) Seriously..I have NEVER backed a short priced favourite because someone "tipped" it, whether a mate of mine tipped it or not. (I know some guys fairly well connected in the horsey world) People have a tendency to want to tip a horse and therefore they don't look at what's in front of them. A short priced favourite is NEVER a good tip as you can figure it out for yourself that the horse is a favourite and "should be a good thing at even money".
Example;
A man told me Antiquites is a good thing in the 2.20 at Saint Cloud tomorrow (and he should be) but the price will reflect this aswell..so i don't know how reliable this tip is..it could just be a little "See how involved I am in this thing i can tip a winner regularly" brag..if he had told me it would be 7-1 and piss it I would back it.
I much rather back a tip from someone who tells me about a horse once a year than from a man who calls me every week, if you get my point.
Can't find it on ATR, what race is that in?

I used to do it (used to be pretty compulsive sometimes) the way I got out of it was with a "Magic 5'er". Set aside 1 5£ note that you SWEAR you will only use on the horses that can actually win (in your opinion). If you can't find a "sure thing" in your mind you can not use that 5'er. (you can use all your other cash but not that 1 note unless it's a sure thing)
You can use that 5'er for any sort of bet as long as you consider it a sure thing. (so 1-4 odds on is fine).
I found that, magically, my 5'er grew to 20 and 50 and more..while my other monies kept dwindling...and then I found that I walked into the bookies every day but walked out without having a bet a lot of the times simply because I didn't fancy a bet on anything running that day. I swear that cured me of my compulsion. Don't get me wrong, I still have a small bet on things that I don't consider good things but the compulsion to chase my loss is completely gone.

I've quit chasing from now on.
Obi Mikel 1st goalscorer @ 50/1 is the last bet i will place chasing losses.

This is why short odds is not a tip and you should ever back them (which I have as a rule, thank goodness) ;
Todays 2.20 at Saint Cloud;
1 4 Leo's Starlet (IRE) 8-9 C P Lemaire A Royer Dupre De 3 11/2
2 1 ¾ Antiquities 8-9 S Pasquier A Fabre 3 8/13 f

lol My tip came from a guy in France who is well connected to the Andre Fabre stable. My post was to illustrate that people, even those connected to stables, tend to tip because they like to be seen to be "in the know" sometimes. It's an ego thing.
I am not saying I won't listen to a tip from you..but I am saying that guys who give you tips for horses at evens are ussually not 99% sure their horse will actually win but they THINK it might. Like I said before..if the same guy calls me about a 7-1 shot that has been working like something else and has to be backed at 7-1, i will back it..not "our horse is fav for this race and should win".

I suggest you find a new source as the man you're getting "tips" from now quite clearly couldn't tip Shergar to win the derby after it had won the derby
