Okay, I give up, I managed to resist for 5 days.

Now I've got a new HD telly, how much do I have to pay for HD? I thought I'd seen it for £100 and £10pm but looking at Customer Services via the remote, it seems to be £200.

Are there any offers or sneaky tricks?

Also, at the moment I have Sky+ downstairs and another, ordinary Sky box (also downstairs) watched by the lodger upstairs aka multiroom. Will I be able to put the Sky+ in place of the Sky and Sky HD in place of the Sky+ without incurring more than the £10pm increase for HD? Will it be possible to keep the 3 Sky boxes at no extra cost?

OK all the sky boxes are yours to do with as you please. If you keep the same nr of boxes active as you have now (3) there won't be an extra charge.I don't know if they charge a tenner extra for a 4th box.

You can move the boxes and viewing cards around when you get the new HD box (the guy installing it can do that for you he just needs to match the viewing cards with the new boxes but that's easily done).

I don't know if there are any new offers on HD..200£ sounds a bit much though,

Quad LNB ( bit on dish) has four outputs, so 1 hd box = 2 outputs, 1sky+=2 outputs, thats your four.
So if your going for more boxes you will either need an Octo LNB or two dishes with 2x quads.
Apart from that not a problem, i would try EBAY for your hd box.
And pair your card yourself, or try a Red Dod and see where you end up Smiley
Each box wil also need a phone point for multiroom, which you should have already.

Casa del Josedinho has 1HD box, 2 Sky plus box and 1 standard sky boxes.

All from one minidish.

Started with sky, got Sky+ and moved the standard box to another room. Then got another sky + and put that in another room. Then got HD and moved Sky+(2) to where the standard box was and the standard to a new room.

Just choose where you want which box and tell the engineer.

When I got HD and the normal sky box moved upstairs they didn't charge anything. But you have to make sure before they come out its all clear what you want doing. The engineer's will not install the extra wiring for HD viewing unless its on their job sheet!

Kids not for sale.

And what exactly are they expecting my hand to shake?

We'll never see an upgrade from the sounds of it.

No charge - don't know if thats standard though.

Just rang up (didn't threaten to cancel) but said "blah blah SKY HD box is £X we'll upgrade if there is no installation charge and you move our existing box to another room"

"ok i'll ask.......that's fine when do you want it in?"

Very highly reccommended (apart from mine not having full sky+ functionality). The sport in HD is unbelievable.
