Once again Stephen Kirk popped up on my radar, for good reason, rather than his whinging about not having his photo up this time!

He is one of the chip daddies amongst the English players with a formidable 40k stack. He asked me to refer to him as "Stephen Kirk, 23 years of age, King of the Brits"

So with no more ado, here is Stephen Kirk, 23 years of age, King of the Brits, who looks older than that and is actually 2nd to Ian Frazer in the Brit count today (pssst, I think that makes you queen! - sorry Stephen!)

A Pot So Ridiculous A Rail Of Norwegians Watching it All Go, "Sick!" and Raise Expressive Eyebrows

It's all gone a bit mental over on Table 21 (which has just been broken as it reached what must have been its apex...)

This guy, raking in this huge pot of around 100k I think is Øystein Halland (correct me if I'm wrong please).  What happened, and has been verified by the winner of the pot himself, was this:  a raise and call pre (not sure which way round it was), both players on around 50k.
Flop:    Check-check.
Turn:    Now Halland bets out 2,500.  The gent pictured below getting, presumably, a low-key Norwegian rubdown after the hand, made it 7k.  Halland moves all-in now, a huge bet of over 40k.  Call.

Halland shows:  for: the Nuts, top straight
Matey shows:  for:  Bottom pair, low straight draw, drawing dead.  The river just gave people time to come and gawk, as the new chip leader says tyvm and heads to a new table...

Here is Neil Blatchly, one of the remaining Brits, and he is doing well with 25,000 of DTD's finest chips to his name. Good going sir!

Oops.

I foolishly took a photo of the wrong man here who is in fact Tor Salveson.

To rectify matters, here is Thomas Olavsrud. He may look like a man who is suffering regret at having stolen one of Nicholas Levi's hat BUT he is actually prospering nicely, up to 35k at this stage! Well done, sir.

*********************************BREAK**********************************

Story from (but not about) Chris Bruce (who has 30k and is proceeding confidently through the sea of madness this tournament has threatened to become for a long time)...

Last hand before the break, there's a raise to 800, a call, and then the big blind pushes all in for 5k or so.  Original raiser passes, but the second guy dwells and calls with .  All-in Matey shows .

Flop:  J-3-5
Turn:  6
River:  7

Au Revoir, trip Jacks Matey!  "He took it well," allowed Mr. Bruce.

BRITWATCH!

BAD NEWS & GOOD NEWS!

First off we have Richard Berridge. He found himself as a shortstack after an ill timed bluff which was picked off by someone with top pair.  Down to 7k or so, he was in no mood to hang about, twice moving in preflop soon afterwards.

The first time, his shove over the late position raise of Rune Jacobsen to 1200 for 6k more was successful and he padded his stack slightly. His next shove however found his opponent holding either 88 or KK, not 100% certain, but whichever, his was no good once the river had been dealt meaning we are one Berridge shaped Brit down...

BUT that brings us onto the GOOD news for the Brits, as Rupinda Bedi was the man who dealt the fatal blow to Richard, meaning our very own pacman-shirted George2loose has bolstered his stack nicely as we head into break 3.

So tears of sadness for some, tears of joy for others, some sort of restraints for Jen please as she has started behaving oddly. I think that proposal from the mad Norwegian drunk guy may have tipped her over the edge. She is moments away from running around with a pretend sword clutched above her head screaming "I f*** your head off!!!"...HELP!!!

John Hammond just met his demise, making a short stacked stand with , but finding Jacob Mandal giving him a spin with
Flop:
Turn:
and now the only possible saviour being a King...which the river wasn't.  Down to just 104 players.

And another cracker from Chris Bruce, whose table clearly deserves a closer eye applied to it.. A short stack moves in under the gun for around 5k, with , called in mid by the , at which point another short stack goes for it with .  All on their backs, all stand up, two prepare for potential elimination...

Flop:
Turn:
River:

Wait...it's not a split...no... the T-Q guy stacks the other two and probably laughs about it a little inside.

Table 33 News - stuff keeps on happening over there, so that's where I've been hovering...

Ole-mats Moskvil (pictured) just doubled his <10k stack to something worth coming back tomorrow with... all in preflop with against Jan Erik Hoff, with .
Board:  ... two hearts (just to keep everyone watching)..........  Broadway for the shortstack, short stack for the Hoff.

Also on that table, the biggest small-denomination stacks of the Day, belonging to Jarle Aasen, I believe.  He might only have 12k, but hot damn it looks like loads.

Here's another picture of Chris Bruce, who looks to have comfortably over 40k, with the added bonus of a marvellously posing Rolf Inge Kvanvik (although it looks a little like he's holding hands with the guy in the blue stripey shirt behind him)....

Svein Roger Simonsen is a casualty of war, his shortstacked push with running into the rather more impressive of his neighbour, Jacob Mandal.

A board that was of no use to Svein transpired, meaning he grabbed his coat to team up with the ever more rowdy group of Norwegian brothers at the bar, whilst Jacob increases his stack nicely.

Here is Jacob following that coup...

The clock has gone red, which means there are only five minutes of play remaining.  Having a quick scout round, it looks like there are a few hefty stacks, but we'll need chip count confirmation to be sure of whether or not anyone has topped Julian Thew's tasty 120k-or-so...  Today's start day did have a few more runners - 167, I reckon, to yesterday's 149.  Still, got to hand it to these players for getting down under 80 in just nine short hours.

We have finished Level 9 with 79 players remaining today which means our work is effectively done.

They are counting and bagging the players' chips as we speak which means before too long we will have the final chip counts for the day which we will post on receipt.

Before we leave you though, there is just time for a late, AND DEFINITIVE, entry for hoody of the day.

Like many of the norwegians drinking vodka and red bull, this guy's hoody has wings! Oh yes! Awesome stuff.

That's about it for now guys. Once again we have had a brilliant time with the entertaining Norwegians, who have been the life and soul once once more.

Tomorrow will bring us that extra step closer to seeing who will emerge as the poker champion of Norway so join us then for the 3pm start, but for now...
