I very much enjoyed reading this quote by Newcastle United's Chairman Chris Mort

"It is frustrating that Modric, like (Jonathan) Woodgate before him, should take less money than we offered to move to the bright lights of London, and European football with Tottenham next season. "

[X] Bright lights of London
[X] European football
[X] World class Manager
[X] World class Defender (Woodgate) and Midfielder (Modric)
[ ] Stephen Carr and Damien Duff
[ ] Defeatist cretin of a manager (Keegan)
[X] lolololol @ the barcodes.

Cretin is pathetic way to speak about a man who although may have failed as england manager is a very popular manager who for you too describe as a defeatist is laughable tbh or do you just say this because he said what we all know that the big4 currently have a strangle hold on the prem.

Carr is gone and i'd expect duff will follow in the summer

The term world class is thrown about far too often for me and would disagree with ramos being a world class manager. As for woodgate i'll answer that if he ever manages to play more than 3 games in a row...

IMHO some of your comments on newcaslte are well wide of the mark tbh Nemesis.

why is it football fans cant just describe players that play for their clubs as 'pretty good' or 'very good' instead of world class?

I dont know how Woodgate can be classed as world class after one season without injury. I will go so far as to say he could be, that's about it. I could have been good. A lot of people could have been.

Ramos is a very good manager. Definately better than any Spurs manager in memory. I think he's world class but I doubt most people will agree as generally over here if you didn't do it on these shores it doesn't count and if you did and press don't like you, then in a year or two it wont count either.

Ultimately he will always be remembered for that PR gaff. But his training methods were advance for their time and he has proven himself at Basel.

But those days were dark indeed.
