"it'd be pretty weird playing a break up song with the girl you wrote it about singing back up vocals and glaring at you on stage while you're playing it"

I remember watching the documentary of the making of Rumours, its amazing how such a great record was made in such a disfunctional setting. Mick Fleetwood was the sanest member at the time!!!

Thats such a heartbreaking song by Christine Mcvie.

Coke by the bucketload, huge sexual chemistry, fall outs, health problems, drink problems, multiple divorces, Lindsey leaving (replaced by 2 guitarists), Lindsay back again, Christine retiring

When Abba's couples divorced they called it "doing a Fleetwood Mac"

Wonderful wonderful band and you can see all of the above writ large on you tube depending which era you look at! I could get lost in it for days

look at this for early vintage stuff

Stevie Nicks in this....

I guess the tone in Fleetwood Mac was set with Peter Green & his descent into madness.

I meet him later in the 80s, & spent a surreal afternoon in a pub in Sevenoaks with him & his manager. Peter insisted there must be a Pub with strippers in. Of course Sevenoaks doesn't do strippers, so he decided he go on a bender, with  him wondering off & ending up in a women's clothing shop, & giving the staff some grief. He some how managed to get his act together for the gig later that night.

Some great early Fleetwood Mac clips here:
