I've taken something along with me a few times. I don't really think of it as a lucky charm though. It's the only thing I've won (other than money) whilst playing poker.
an IRC channel host tournaments occasionally, I managed to win it one month and got an engraved zippo sent to me all the way from the states. It's nice to have something you've won other than money for your efforts.
