I've just read Alex Martins article on short stacks in cash games in a magazine and I found myself agreeing with absolutely everything that was being said.

They only gave you 600 words on such an article. Such ashame as I'm sure you could rant all day about them as could I.

You mentioned the issues with them ruining the texture of a poker game, because of their limited 'ability'. I don't even know how I can use ability in a sentence concerning cash game min buyin players they are a joke.

But the thing that really grates me is the fact that these shorties sit down with $2 in a $10nl game. And they reload and reload and reload until they double up once then they leave. Why do they do this, I mean where is the logic in it? I could understand a shortie sitting down at $10/$20 - $30/$60 as a short stack as at least you are playing for meaningful money. But to do this at $0.05/$0.10, I don't understand it.

Has anybody ever asked the question to a shorty why they do it and then get an answer. Because I'd really love to know how they're minds work.

I come across it live a couple of weeks ago at Star City in Birmingham, but the two players who sat down were complete atms and they never had the chance to rathole as they kept losing. However why have 4x£25 buyin for £100pl when you can have 1x£100pl and gain profit on big hands?
