I'm not very good with folders and files on my computer, I don't really understand wtf to do with them but i've always muddled through but now with holdem manager and datamining and stuff I seem to be having to play with them all the time.

My problem is that if I have to browse for a folder to tell holdem manager for example where a hand history file is it takes up to half an hour after I hit the + sign next to the folder for example program files for it to come up with the actual files inside the folder. does that make sense? I'm using XP and it's not a slow computer it just takes forever to do this one thing. I've googled but can't find anyone who has had the same problem.

any thoughts?

It's probably due to the sheer file size of all the files in the folder.  Windows goes through the files to determine how many there are, and the file size of each one, etc.  If there are many months of HH, that's going to be a lot of files.

What is it you're wanting to do?  There might be a way round it (there might not be though!).

for example I am trying to set up eyepoker datamining software, it says to make a new folder so I make it, I go to configure it in HEM so that it knows where to import from, I click on the folder and it's done nothing for the last 5 minutes, just the eggtimer if I move the mouse cusor over it.
