THE DAILY GRIND
Everton take on Barca in early season six pointer:
Although only five games into the season Everton and Barcelona are fast gaining a reputation as draw specialists. The Catalan giants and The Toffeemen have three apiece already. With both languishing in the bottom half of the table a draw is a result that will suit neither in tonight’s clash at Goodison Park. Asked if he viewed the game as a six pointer, rookie Blues boss
Nick
Wright
said, “Yes, but only because we’ve both got six points.”
The visit of Barcelona is the first in a triumvirate of tought tests for Everton who will take on Man Utd and Chelsea in their next two fixtures. “I’d settle for three points from these three games,” said Wright, “But nine is what we’re aiming fo although if we can't beat f***king Derby then what chance have we got?” The Devonian who was a surprise replacement for dour Scotsman Daivd Moyes has set about re-building the squad and said. “I expect to bring in one new big name signing in the next few weeks.”

The game of the weekend takes place at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea quiver, tremble and generally shit themselves before the mighty Man Utd juggernaut. The current table-toppers have won five games on the bounce, scoring 16 goals in the process and plan to sweep aside the pathetic West Londoners.
Man Utd manager Andrew Tracey dismissed claims his early-season sell-off of players had left the team severely weakened in depth. 'We'll be unstoppable all season long, assuming we get no one injured, sent off or a bit tired', he said.
He also claimed not to know the meaning of the word hubris.

Roman Pavlyuchenko is said to be delighted at signing for Division 1 side Blackburn Rovers. After there was reported interest from Barcelona manager Scott Campbell moved fast to sign the Russian striker. The deal also say two Blackburn players leave in the opposite direction and fans are said to be worried by the squad size with many of the younger players not up to scratch. Campbell has denied this is a problem and has snapped up Phillipe Senderos and Victor Anichebe on loan deals.

Actually Tighty, I had him lined up earlier in the day and then got a message saying you had made a bid so I slapped my bid in too. Obv he looked at the league and decided that Blackburn were the best option. Unfortunately I had to release Samba and Warnock as part of the deal. Warnock is still cheap so I can always sign him again in August.

Here is a getting started guide dan...
http://www.soccermanager.com/wiki/index.php/Getting_Started
...but probably best if you have any specific questions to fire them in here and I'm sure they will get answered rapidly.
A basic early tip is to look abroad for signing and swap some of your shite for upgrades....

They think it's all over. it is now
PSV face Grimsby this weekend in what PSV manager Peter Lap predicted would be described as "The walkover of the season, and we have a bye in the next cup round!". Asked if he had anymore comments about the game, he just said "Listen, I'd love to give you a nice long press conference but let's safe them for a big game, OK?"
PSV player Philip Cocu, on loan at Grimsby but out injured, said; "The manager is bricking himself. I saw him cry like a little girl after the lat game and asking himself why he took this job" He continued by saying; "Don't get me wrong, this is a lovely little club but the quality of the players isn't good enough to warrant Div1 status and after only 5 games we are already dangerously close to relegation" "We still have a chance to stay up and I hope to play my part in this as soon as I return from injury but we could do with a defender or 2 joining us"
PSV, meanwhile, keep bringing in exciting new talent. This week saw the arrival of Russian international Denis Kolodin, widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in Russia., and Nigel De Jong a talented defensive midfielder with a bright future.
PSV spokesman Lekker Blijvenlullen was quoted as saying "We have been following this guy (Kolodin) for a long time, since the Russia-Holland game to be exact so a good 3 days. Guus told us to buy him and therefore we did...we listen to our Guus, so we do".
"Nigel was always going to come to us", he continued, " He used to play for Ajax but we have just written that off as a childhood mistake and we hope we can rid him of the bad habits he picked up there. He is expected to massively improve over the nextfew years"
Asked if there was any more news on the transfer front PSV Manager Peter Lap stated; "Well, we have a couple of younger players in mind, we are building a squad for the future. We are not the richest club in the league but we have quality players, a decent scouting system and a lot of skill and heart. You can't buy long-term success, just look at the likes of Barcelona. You need heart in this game, and combined with skill, that's what you need."

Barcelona thwarted in bid for Pavylechenko
Under pressure Barca boss Tighty was today frustrated at Roman Pavylechenko's decision to join Northern England whippet fanciers Blackburn Rovers in preference to his Catalan superstars. Tighty had scouted the Russian striker extensively on a week long sojourn to Austria during Euro 2008 and felt he was just the sort of young hungry target-man to push his underperforming strikers.
Having been baffled by the Russian's move to Blackburn Tighty will now turn his attentions elsewhere.Media speculation already links Barca with a move for any player likely to prefer Barca to Wigan, Cardiff or Rushden and Diamonds.

PSV manager Peter Lap
After all this time I find out Boldie's real name.
The thing is, I've never even wondered what it might be.

I've got Anthony Gardner (86 rating) on the market if you're interested. He's 27, so at his peak and yours for 3,750,000 (that's smack in the mdidle of his value and the chairman's value)
