Haha Id just like to point out just straight 10 card PLO is miles better than 14 PLO Hi/Lo split......Goddam that ironside for choosing this game a few times last night.  He's a hi-lo specialist apparently..................

As for the best starting hand.  I would like AAAA2345KKQQJT with the 4 aces suited and the other cards equally spread amongst the suits.  Ironside would find a way to outdraw it mind you.

Anyone who fancys taking us on at this game is welcome to come to Aberdeen.  We've been cleaning out wandering poker forum minstrals for years at such games.............

aa23456789tqkds would be my choice. If the board isnt paired or flushed you have the nut straight more often than not (and a straight is the most common winning hand in omaha) ,even if the board is paired as log as the pair is the highest card you have the nut full house ( or 2nd nut boat if it isnt the highest card paired). You also have a 50% chance of having the nut flush if its a flushed board. Sure you may have to give up a 1/4 or an 1/8th of the pot but at least you are going to be able to play a big pot. If you have aaaa in your hand not many will play a big pot with you imo.

Having AAAA in your hand is absolutely essential to having the premium hand because if you have this you and only you can have the nut Low, providing excellent bluffing opportunites to buy which would othrwise be a split pot, and also you are the only person who can ever have an ace high straight.

The Premium hand is AAAAKKQJT65432

I can see your point Jamie but id rather have the QQ than add the 6into the low hand.

Ironside you motherf***er lol just for the record I had nut high and 2nd nut low

Flop K85 two clubs.  Important cards in my hand KKA24679 with nut clubs

I checkraise flop (ironside obviously bets when checked to him, ty kind sir).  Ironside calls

Turn 2 (pretty shit but my hand still decent) I bet 100 quid, Ironside calls

River 7 not a club.  Gay, I have nut high but only2nd nut low.  I check to ironside who bets near 400 quid.  I have to fold as I lose 70 pound on a call if he has nut nut and thats all I can put him on (I only haev one 6 and one 9 in my hand).  I fold disgustedly and a very happy ironside tables nut nut.  MOTHER F***ER!!!!!!!!!!!

my hand was something like A234566789TTJK i had 5 or 6 clubs in my hand so i have blockers for his boats and flushes and all over the straight
i was loving the turn as the only cards i didnt nut on the high was a paired board a queen or a club

ref 14 card hi/lo     ironside/superjez and jamie gold wouldnt recognize a premium starting hand if it hit them on the face.
they cant fold 6 cards never mind 14

i would refer them to mr. lees book on 14 card hi/lo for further sdtudy.

No one is doubting your superior folding skills to any other mortal on the face of the planet. Now you just need to work on when to bet, raise, bluff, check, float and call!

Ironside dont lie you admitted afterward you dint have A2 and were only drawing to an A3 low!  you did have a few clubs tho yeah.  Admiral, we could all find use with lessons from the celebrity chef imo, well all of us apart from Razor maybe.
