Well..by some fluke someone managed it once..but I think it's fairly safe to say Murray would need to improve a lot and get lucky to win one in the next few years....unless he starts playing doubles.

LOL, firstly i didnt say you did, wasn't really the point of my post, who gives a shit about his serve? it's the mentality of Murray fans i was referencing which you've fatuously answered by completely deviating from that point, instead deciding to make the above statement which had no applicability as i neither suggested you think that or think it myself, although if i did  imagine that was your contention you could see where the confusion arose after you posted:(in response to a post about his serve).......If he serves well he can be at least competitive and then going on to say i can see him serving 140mph next year.

Just to clarify then as you're so evidently learned postulating over the the theory and pragmatics of tennis you say: "I didn't say that serving faster would make him any better" but believe in a year he's going to? therefore I'm to infer from the above it will make him worse?

You've also said on this thread that in a few years he'll be challenging the top players consistently, wow, that'll be a tad difficult with his faster serve that he's gonna have by then that wont make him any better, you're right this tennis stuff is confusing, i should leave it to the pro's like you who clealy have a clue what theyre talking about

He's won 5 ATP titles, and has earned over $2,000,000 in tournament winnings. 

So he's not a Federer - who is (other than Federer)?  He's not a Nadal either - but look at how dominant Nadal would be if Federer wasn't around.

He'll be going back into the Top 10 of the world rankings after Wimbledon.  He's still a miserable, dour sod off the court, but he's definitely a 'top' tennis player.

I don't think Murray will beat Nadal but i don't think he's going to get as badly crushed as some people seem to think.

Yes Nadal is immense at the moment but the tennis Murray has played this last week has been superb. If, as some have said, he can get a good first serve percentage in, i think it'll be a pretty cracking match.
