Can anyone help out please, I need to send some urgent texts to Canada,  but trying to use the +1 or 001 code in front of the number is returning a failed message.

Is there a different code I should be using? any help much appreciated xx

Did you remove the zero at the start of the normal number?

If their phone network is CDMA rather than GSM, you won'r be able to text them.

is that for outside phones taken into Canada, or Canadian phones too?

403 is the code for Calgary.

No further help but a free phone number for a Canadian Operator is 0800 89 0016 - it's from the BT homepage

Yep, it's Calgary I'm calling. Starting to think the number they have down as their mobile is actually a land line.... which would be ok, but recently she's moved... grrrr.

yep, even tried that too lol. no joy

Must be a land line, mobiles don't have area codes (I assume they are like us)

North American mobiles are assigned a geographic area code - one of the main reasons being the user-pays model they use. So you'd expect to see a mobile with a 403 dialling code.

lol, no I didn't use those words, maybe that was the problem!

I think I'll have to give up with the mobile until I can verify if it's the current one. Thanks anyway everyone. xx
