Some ppl would be happy to earn that in 12 months, count yourself lucky!

yep - I'd rather be paying £19k in tax than the considerably smaller sum I pay now, and that's a FACT

Welcome to my world, I don't get anything nice unless I buy it from poker winnings. The other month Zabeen won £750 from DTD which all went in living expenses as is the money we have saved up for tax. Small stakes for life IMO.

dunno why i should count myself lucky, maybe i should count my self lucky that i managed to turn my life around instead of being a bum who sponged off the state especially as it wasnt luck but hard work

and  FWIW the tax was between 2 people over 2 years, so wasnt really bragging!!

just pissed @ myself that i had to withdraw from my poker account..

Call me dumb but I dont understand this thread at all- why do you pay tax on poker winnings(unless of course you live in the states)- or is this a tax bill outwith poker???

One thing I've often wondered- what do the Americans who take down the big scores(sunday million etc) do with regard to their winnings?? They need to put all earnings to the taxman(IRS) yet its illegal to play online poker- the guy last week that won the MIllion or warmup was from Baltimore(which to my knowledge is illegal to gamble in)

I think the thread is saying this:

1. Me and Mrs earnt shed load of £'s.
2. We are s/e so can pay tax twice a year not every week or month like the rest of us mere mortals.
3. Even tho' we earnt shed loads we didnt bother putting aside money for my tax bills in January/July.
4. Had to raid poker "bankroll" to pay July bill.
5. err...thats it

2. We are s/e so can pay tax twice a year not every week or month like the rest of us mere mortals.    Not our fault
3. Even tho' we earnt shed loads we didnt bother putting aside money for my tax bills in January/July.         Just Me
4. Had to raid poker "bankroll" to pay July bill.                      Unlike you mere mortals we have to pay tax in advance
5. err...thats it
