HEMA is a Dutch department store. The first store opened on November 4, 1926, in Amsterdam. Now there are 150 stores all over the Netherlands. HEMA also has stores in Belgium, Luxemburg, and Germany. In June of this year, HEMA was sold to British investment company Lion Capital.

Take a look at HEMA's product page. You can't order anything and it's in Dutch but just wait a couple of seconds and watch what happens.  (Don't worry, nothing will pop up and scare you.)

HEMA is mainly known in Holland for their smoked Sausage...atleast among my generation. A day out shopping in town meant getting a smoked sausage from the HEMA, best smoked sausage in the world, they are...and only 1 guilder a pop Smiley

My brother lives in Amsterdam, and I now have a fine collection of Hema socks for around 1 euro a pair. I love Hema, they sell everything.

There used to be a stall on the Kalverstraat that sold 10 pairs of socks for 3euros...I never washed my socks, just bought new ones every time Smiley
