I love how Bolt has totally shown up the received wisdom in athletics that really tall guys can't be sprinters. In the past, tall teenagers were steered towards other events by their coaches.

Maybe we can get Peter Crouch sprinting to 100m glory in 2012?

Saw on Bluesquare Bolt is 1/50 for the 200m, you can have the rest of the field for 14/1, obviously he would need to get disqualified or injured not to win it but there is a bit of value there considering a heat's not been run yet.

That said he'd probably win even if he turned round and jogged backwards for the last 20 metres.

Is that in any heat, or just the final?

Paula Radcliffe will be running in an hour.  I guess we'll see if she's anywhere near the required fitness level.  With proper preparation, and without the injuries she'd be an odds-on favourite.

I just hope she's fit enough to put in a competitive time, and a bit of rain would also be a plus.

The weather isn't too bad - so that's good.  They've completed 1Km, so only 40-odd to go.
