15K completed, and all three Brits are up near the front.  Paula's not taken it out like she normally does, I wonder if she'll try and move it on a bit in the later stages (if she can of course).

I'm in great bokking form, as soon as I post Liz Yelling trips - she's still running but with some nasty grazes on her shoulder and back.

It doesn't seem the best organised race so far..

Paula's just had a 'pit-stop', but is back with the leading group.  It's raining now, so if she's feeling good the conditions are the best she could have hoped for.

Constantina Tomescu Dita has made her usual break.  She usually gets caught, but she's got a useful lead now though.

These slow-motion shots are a bit strange though...

Yes, looks like she's spent.  Such a shame that she wasn't fit again when the Olympics came round.  Like they said on the commentary - her 9th marathon, and only the second one she hasn't won.

Hopefully, Yamauchi can get the gold.

In one sense, I want Paula to have a great comeback and storm through the field.. but realistically not happening...

Even if she was fully fit, it's not how she runs.  If she was fit, she'd be the one pushing the pace and making sure she was far enough ahead of anyone's late sprint finish.

I hope the group including Yamauchi can catch the Romanian.

I know.. I've only not seen her run once... as they said, her WR is astonishing

At this rate, the chasing group are leaving it to each other and the Romanian is streaking further ahead
