So reading Sheriff's review got me to thinking...Harrington is widely read, and in my opinion correctly highly rated

My question is as follows...do you notice (more so live than online) more people playing a noticeably Harrington way?

By that I mean

the pre flop raiser will routinely make continuation bets

people make more probe bets

when you think you see a continuation bet you play back, he's less bothered because he thinks you think he's just following through his raise

and then as people's M's move down they get more aggressive earlier etc etc

If you play the Harrington way, how do you make your betting patterns more difficult to interpret?

Personally, I think there's a risk in thinking this way.  As I intimated in my review, many readers of HOH1 have developed many of the concepts quite naturally without reading the book so the only obvious way to spot a "Harrington reader" is if they start using some of the terminology used in the two books.

If you incorrectly peg someone as a "Harrington player" who has never picked up the book you're more likely to feed yourself mis-information than anything else.  Consequently its dangerous to peg someone into such a narrow category based on what books you think they've read.

In any event the very best players are generally the ones who can disguise their play well and apply deception/unpredictablilty to their game.  They will actively seek to make bets which appear to be something other than what they are and, if they know you interpret bets in a particular way, they will use this information to their advantage.
