Terminator Genisys

Arnies back in this reboot that veers off the orignal into an alternate timeline... much time travel shenangins ensue with Arnie as an original Terminator thats skin etc has aged ( convieniently ) protecting Sarah Connor .

Welcome back shape shifting liquid metal terminators + more..

Nice and noisy, good effects etc as you would expect but nothing startling... story holds together by threads but Arnie gets a couple nice one liners and a discomforting smile..

All in all standard action fare boosted by a smidge cos it has Terminators

San Andreas

The Rock stars as a rescue helicopter pilot as the San Andreas fault cracks wide open causing huge earth quakes that rip apart cities from nevada to the west coast.

From the very first seconds the action in this one is relentless with hardly a breath being drawn for over two hours.

Effects are pretty awesome with huge sky scrapers crumbling into each other with glorious aplomb..

The Rock embarks on an unlikely rescue of first his estranged wife and secondly his beautifully breasted daughter.. i say this as on numerous occassions she trys her ver best to reveal as much of them as possible.. If i didnt know better id think it was some kind of product placement for plastic surgery..

Any Hoo.. fast.. loud and glouriously over the top.. enjoyed it and cant get over how flipping huge the Rock has become..they is some good steroids ..

Spent much of the first twenty mins thinking it was a remake and I wish I had read the previews, and then thinking, I recognise the bird playing Sarah Connor, before the wife said its the woman from your stupid dragons and witches programme.

Cut to the quick.

As you said, ok, but no more than 6/10

Watched Spy last night, and thought it was excellent.

Had never seen her before, but Melissa McCarthy was very good, and Statham was pretty funny, too.

Never watched Mike and Molly.....oh my.

Ted 2

Surprisingly a lot better than I imagined it would be after being somewhat disappointed with the first one. The story focuses on Teds fight to get recognised as a human. Usual course humour you'd expect from a Seth MacFarlane creation.

Funniest moment was in a fertility clinic when there was an unfortunate incident involving Johnny (Mark Wahlberg) and a rack full of sperm donations.

Female Nurse: It should be ok, those are just the rejected sickle cell samples.
Ted: Did you hear that? You're covered in rejected black men's semen. You look like a Kardashian.

Do you need to watch the first one or can you dive straight in on this one mate?

It would help but definitely not imperative. I'll give you all you need to know about the first one;

Young boy wishes his toy bear to life. Boy and bear grow up to be best friends getting drunk and smoking drugs etc. Nasty man called Donny kidnaps bear. Bear survives. The end.

I finally watched the first Ted tonight, and was hugely looking forward to it as I love Seth Macfarlane.

It was utter shite.

Marky Mark must be the most over rated actor in Hollywood (apart from  Nicholas Cage of course).

Fred Done is a billionaire.

How do you get that sort of money by not laying bets?

If you thought that was bad, try 'A million ways to die in the west'.

Don't get this Seth Macfarlane love at all, Family Guy also garb imo.
