Seen District 9

Its documentary style, hand held camera action ,following only one character,Wickus Van Dickus gets a bit samey.

The parallels to minority persecution of ghetto black americans is humorous.

Theres no romantic sub plot so the girlies won't like it

Curoius as to what you think the main characters motivation was if not of a romantic nature?

Saw (500) days of summer tonight. Maybe had read too many good reviews, as I left disappointed.

I'm no expert on rom coms, or rom, or com come to think of it, but there was zero chemistry between the two lead characters imo.

Zooey Deschanal was prob OK all things considered but it never quite worked for me, maybe because I saw her in that M.Night Shakatak disgrace last summer, but just an all right performance, no more than that. Needed a wackier actress. Someone like Juliette Lewis ten years ago would have been perfect.

The time? 11am random weekday morning
The place? Huntingdon Cineworld
The film? Anything non blockbustery
The snack? Pic'n'mix, after getting annoyed at a couple of fat birds taking ages deciding which sprinkles they want on their ice cream/hot fudge combo (not a sexist comment honest).
The get-up? Tracky bottoms and Posh shirt
The compulsory behaviour? Telling rowdy teens to shut up.

Just seen District 9.

It's no Matrix but it's quality alright. Has more of a feel of Cloverfield about it than anything.
Never anything less than believable, which is pretty amazing given what we're being asked to believe.
Agree with Tanky, the lead character is top drawer.
8/10 for me imo

Just watched it,really enjoyed it.I take Tank's point about it turning into a run of the mill action/chase movie at the end but it wasn't enough to spoil the overall film.

The CGI was really well done considering the relatively low budget.

Awesome film

Heres a link to the 6 minute short 'Alive in joburg', which the director made before District 9.  Same story as the feature length as it evolved from this short.  An interesting watch.

Just watched District 9 really really enjoyed it but better if you go in with no expectations (tho did laugh at the bit with the pig not really a spoiler as its a 2 sec clip)

Bruno was better than I thought it would be but think they would be pushing it with another similar type film

still waiting to see Inglorious
