Jonathon Ross had a cracking review on Transformers 2. Basically said it was not a film because it lacked a plot, acting, script etc etc. If you want to see special effects it was great, but that's not the point of a movie to me. It's fair that some people don't want to certain things from films and just like to escape and fair do's to them, this would be ideal to those.

I want a film to educate, enlighten or have a lasting impression on me for it to be in my top 20 list. The emotions and soundtrack from midnight cowboy, the scene's of sheer hell from Deer hunter (along with the soundtrack), the err robot smashing another car in transformers 2......

Sounds a bit snobby but I doubt you would be able to tell me one thing about these shitty throw away movies in 5 years time.

Personally I really enjoyed transformers. I haven't seen Transformers 2 but I'm sure that I will enjoy that as well.

However they can't be great films because I doubt I'll ever watch either more than once.

Now Aliens (my fave film of all time) I've seen countless times and could recite most of it word for word. So many great lines and characters it's untrue.

Another great is pulp fiction. Again there are so many quotable lines.

This is how I guage a film. How much of it do you remember? If it's not a lot it probably wasn't that good.

Transformers
Transformers 2
Police Academy
Police Academy 2
Police Academy 3
Police Academy 4
Police Academy 5
Police Academy 6

Have to leave it as a top 8 coz i can't think of two more films deserving of inclusion. Probs Transformers 3 and 4 when they come out.

Or Aliens, Or BladeRunner

Not a great film unless the script and screenplay matches the effects. In Transformers it's nowhere near

Here's 200 to go at for starters. Don't see transformers anywhere lol

Ill say again

Everyone has an opinion, and everyones opinions are different, everyone has different views, and my view is that today they are both in my top 3.

Each to there own, i know people that absolutely loved There will Be Blood, which is one of the worst films ive ever seen, but thats there choice.

Shai LaBeouf for an Oscar IMHO in that movie

Yeah Dirty Dancing's one of the best chick flicks going. Not seen Moulin Rouge though but I can't see it knocking Arnie out of my top ten tbh.

Tell you another really good film that I can't put on my list due to my need to remain heterosexual....

Grease......

If there's 1 person on this whole forum who doesn't know the words to at least one of the tracks from that film I'd be really shocked.
