Watched Eden Lake under reccomendation.

Definitely a very effective film that had was uncomfortable to watch at times, usually a sign that the filmakers have sucessfully drawn you into the world they've created.

A few minor flaws with the plot, but overall a well done chav horror with echoes of Wolf Creek (prob the best horror film I've seen in the last 10 years) and The Descent in it.

7.9/10
from the Cat.

Did you not think that the ending was as far fetched as you could get, totally spoiled the film imo.

It could have been done better but wasn't completely out of kilter with the rest of the film.

It definitely is uncomfortable. Throughout the film, your instincts are screaming out for justice and I dunno about you but when it was over I felt a bit frustrated and angry, almost like I wanted to go out and belt the nearest chav.

I think that's the key thing about the film though, you see the civilised girl reduced to barbarity by the behaviour of the kids and she becomes as brutal as them in her own way. Andby the end of the film, you feel those primal angry instincts too.

So in a way it works well.

'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly' is an absolute masterpiece. Yet another example of just how much better the French are at making films than everyone else.

As it was Crow day today , I went to see Russell Crowe in State of Play

Journalist McCaffey ( Crowe ), investigates his old college pal (Ben Affleck),

who leads a case against a government defense contractor.

The clues unfold slowly, and 90% of the film is Crowe talking, its a one man film.

Support comes from Helen Mirren as his boss of the Washington Globe ,

good tension builder, but would he really follow a hit man into an underground car park armed only with a pen and notebook.

Theres a twist at the end , which helps, 7 out ten, I'm a Russell fan ever since Gladiator

Saw Observe & Report last night.

Started off very strange, big fan of Seth Rogan and he didnt seem on form.
Soon got there though with some hilarious bits.

When they get battered and sort the skate boarding kids, so funny.

All builds up for one of the best endings to a film ever!!

Plus i have never seen the good old phrase 'f*&k yoooou' used so much!

You might like Donkey Punch then.    Same kind of style.
