I think it just shows that it's an incredible story.  Something definitely 'flipped' in that fella's head.

Just back from the pub whwere we were debating this one and think the clue is in the article:

Other passengers said that the attacker and his victim were sitting at the back of the bus and the victim, described as around 20 years old, was listening to music through headphones

After several hours in a coach going across Canada, could it be the sound from the headphones that just did his head in and he snapped?
