Top two pair, cash game
«

50p/£1 live cash game.
Late on in the session, and the table only has 6 players. I'm sitting there with £160, an active aggressive player is sat to my left with about £500 (after reloading a few times earlier on). A few other players at the table like to call and see flops, but then are fairly passive.
I have
in the BB. Agressive player is UTG.
UTG raises to £3.5. This can mean anything, and certainly doesn't necessarily mean a premium hand. He gets two other callers and then it's round to me, and I throw in the extra to see a flop (which I assume is fine, and I'm hoping to hit a flop hard).
I'm first to act, and bet £10. UTG calls, and the other two fold. UTG's range is huge, could have a king with any kicker, flush draw, set, or could have missed completely and be looking to bet me off the pot on a later street.
Turn is
.
£34 in the pot. I'm OOP, but think that my hand's good. I was thinking that if I check, UTG will probably bet, giving me a chance to raise and make a substantial bet to increase the size of the pot. However, if he's on the flush draw he'll probably just check and get a free river card.
So, instead I decide to bet £20.
He re-raises to £50.
What do you put him on here? I still think I'm ahead, as the 7 makes no difference to where we were before, and if he's drawing to the flush he only has one card to come. If he has AK, only the ace helps him. Should I be worried about a set? A set of kings or jacks is unlikely, so that leaves a set of fives.
I was thinking about just calling here, but if the river comes a blank for him I'm unlikely to get any more from him. So instead I decide to raise. Should alarm bells be ringing here, what range should I be putting him on?
I decide to re-raise all-in for my remaining £100 or so.
Thoughts?

I assume that as you left before the place closed that you lose this hand.
Therefore you should've folded you numpty!!!!

If his range is a big as you say, then I think you made the right decision. Good chance you've still got outs.

Were you still around? I left at 5:30 when the last 50p/£1 table broke.

So based on the information I've given, there's nothing wrong with my play? It's all pretty standard?

imo, yes. His raise on the turn is worryingly small, but if his range extends to raising king-rag under-the-gun then I'd make the call. I also think a loose player like that would raise a set on the flop with the draw potential out there.

It's fine for me mate...you are ahead of soo many hands that he could have here. If he has a set it's just unlucky.

He stands up and shakes his head saying "I don't think I can fold here". He does call, and when the river comes with
and he says "yes quads" it confirmed that he did in fact have
for the flopped set.
Guess it was just one of those hands, but I was thinking that maybe I needed to shorten his range after his raise on the turn?

No, we'd been playing for quite a few hours, and I've played with him before. He said that he knew I had a decent hand to commit all my chips and he thought that I might have had pocket jacks. He said he thought he might be behind but couldn't pass his set for the amount in the middle. I don't think he was ever seriously thinking about folding though.

You did nowt wrong there mate. Got to get it in with hands like that especially against that oppo.
Just shows how good your rep is if he was thinking of folding.
Ever thought about maybe trying a bluff?

LOL - I do, and I get away with them because of the image. I'm also calling a lot lighter against certain players now.
