It was down to 275 players in the 250k guaranteed online last night with 150 paid, about average stack of 9k, blinds are 300-600 and I am one before the button ten handed. Guy two after the big blind raises to 1800 with 8k stack, I have pocket 10's and with 2700 already in the middle decide to shove my 9k all in, the small blind with 14k flat calls (which I thought was weird) and the original raiser folds. The small blind had ak and hit ak on the flop to knock me out.

My question is what do you guys do there with the 1010 (my table image was very tight), and to be honest I would of been happy cashing so would be interesting to hear from both views of playing to cash or playing to win.

cheers

Your still a long way off the bubble, 125 players... Original raiser folding so we can assume he had a hand weaker than 10's. If the blinds both fold which they will 95% of the time here then you either:

a) get the OR to fold, thus adding 30% chips to your stack with no risk...

b) the OR may call with a weaker pair, bingo... (he may call if the small blind doesnt)

c) be flipping, where 10's are slight fave and the ante's and blinds make it a positive situation...

So, ul timing, no more no less...

Poker is costing you 1K+ every 9 hands and you have 9k. In order to even make the money you are going to have to get your chips in at some point soon. Do you want to take on A-K with 10-10 and 2.7k dead money in the middle? Yes you do.
