I use AOL - but then I would <g>.

They aren't that bad Smiley

You also don't have to load their client software when you run the dsl either, which is good if you run multiple sites while table whoring Smiley

I use AOL as well, I've never had any disconnection problems, expensive in comparision to other providers, but excellent customer service.

24hours after the problem first materialised and I still have no dsl connection.  It returned for a few hours yesterday evening but was painfully slow.

Also, as I use an ISP who rents a BT line I get the classic customer service scenario - ISP says phone BT, BT say speak to ISP!

Brilliant.

Guess I'm stuck with a GPRS connection for an unspecified amount of time then!  At least I have a connection though!

Sheriff, call BT and ask them to do a line check, then they have to check the line for faults - it might well be the line that is causing you problems, and if they find a fault then they have to come out and sort it.

From what you have said, the ISP doesn't have an operational problem, so it is down to BT.

Start by getting the voice line checked.

What a surprise - the BT fault service detects no faults on the voice line!

Pity about the fact I get re-directed to a BT-logoed fault screen when I try to access the internet via the ADSL line!

Yeah we do have cable dsl. Although coverage is patchy.

I live in Zone 2 in London, and I don't have cable as it hasn't got to us yet<g>.

I hope you guys get this soon, seems a real bummer to be doing so well in a tourney, only to get booted, or sevice go down.

I don't think cable in this country is much better than DSL, however the 2 main providers have just merged so maybe that will change.

Whatever happens LLU and an apparent change of pricing strategy by BT (hence all the speed upgrades) should lead to some changes in the products available.
