Will anyone who's going to this be passing J10 of the M42 (just north of Brum) on your way and be able to give me a lift?

Long shot I know...

What's wrong with that big global warmer of yours?

They are replacing the exhaust manifold bolts on his jalopy as some have snapped, and so they have to take the a lot of stuff off to get to it (the turbo, the head of the engine block, etc.).

As you may, or may not know, they need to elongate the holes so that they can tolerate some stresses and movement of the engine (some of the holes are elongated and some are round, and it's a known problem with the round ones snapping the bolts).

Any other questions, just ask.

It's a balancing act between elongating enough to tolerate stress but remaining tight enough to prevent excessive movement under heavy torque.

You're not wrong.

But once that's done, I will be back polluting the atmosphere most efficiently.

You are a gent.  I think I might have a lift now, but if not I could look into the train option and will then take you up on the offer.

thumbs up

Ok, first pictures of today at DTD

First to go out was Kev  Oxbowler with a king flush who was beaten by flashflush with an Ace flush

Second was our trace Dingdell with pocket Aces beat by Michelle Orpe with pocket kings that made a set

Fifth was Richard Orford who was soon down to 100 chips  and forced into the big blind and out
