I must have looked at something bright cos I'm really struggling to see atm.  I thought it wouldn't last long, but it's been 5 mins and if anything it's getting worse.  It's more my left eye than right.

Any ideas how long it could last for?  Obv could last for life but i'm hoping to get away with 10 more mins?  Anything I can do?

are you on any medication atm Graham?  I've had this before as a side effect and it lasted a few hours.

alternatively could be the start of a migrane....

Not on any medication and I don't get migranes.  Perhaps it is blindness.  I can see things if I look slightly to the side.  I guess I could get funny looks if it lasts much longer.

it sounds really similar to what happened to me (I put it down to medication I was on at the time, but maybe it wasn't!).  Have you got what look like waves at the bottom of your field of vision in the most affected eye?

what do you mean you cant see graham, is it just blurred or out of focus, you may just need glasses for the computer, eye test is best idea

It's not a glasses thing, it's an all of a sudden looked at something bright thing. No wavy lines, it's all sort of blurred but seems to be getting a bit better. It's really annoying.  Will follow those instructions Tighty, I think I can understand them!

I'm not the best at opening my eyes underwater, it's not something they seem keen to happen but desite having a wet shirt now, it seems to have improved.

Oh thats good.was gonna ask if you had done any heavy welding recently.arc flash has all the symptoms you mentioned.if this is the case i,d advise you get a stronger faceplate or turn down the voltage.glad to help
