Pokerstars.com Barcelona EPT - Day 3 - Interactive

Welcome back for Day Three of EPT Barcelona from myself and Jen here in Barcelona.
We witnessed a firecracker of a day yesterday. Sebastian Ruthenberg, the young German who picked up a stud hi lo bracelet at this summer's WSOP, began the day chip leader and maintained a healthy stack all the way through to the latter stages of the day.
Can he pick up his second big tournament in just a few months?
Also going well is Belgium Winamax player Davidi Kitai. Like Sebastian, he also won a bracelet at the World Series and is clearly another man in form who the field will be hard pressed to stop.
English hopes seem to lie with Stephen Chidwick, who is well in contention, especially after he de-railed Maz Nawab's tournament in dramatic fashion late on in the day yesterday.
Other young guns in the mix include Dane Jonas Klausen, who has looked in good shape throughout and the confident Swede Ramzi Jelassi, who has had some dire fortune in EPTs previously but will have gone to bed with the mantra "ONE TIME" ringing in his ears.
Today should prove to be incredibly exciting and we await the start like eager little beavers!

Quick note to say the press room is a tad chaotic today with the EPT attracting multiple poker reporting outlets from all over the world battling over the limited ethernet cables that constitute our means of communicating over the internet.
As a result of my quick feline reflexes, I managed to commandeer one early doors, whilst Jen used a less subtle approach, challenging an Italian media outlet to a caged deathmatch, with one of the scarce ethernet cables to the winner.
Taking on four large hairy Italians would be a tough task for most 6 stone women, but Jen is no normal lady and had two of the Italians in a double headlock, when she was assaulted from the rear and the four men managed to just about pin her for a count of three. A massive upset in the press room wrestling world, although we may see a re-match tomorrow, with Jen better able to showcase her favourite finishing manoeveur, the "VDD" or "Verbose Dressing Down" that few people have ever survived.
The unfortunate loss means Jen has been unable to get hold of a working internet connection so far much to her chagrin, but I will be a conduit for the witticisms, astute observations and invented vocabulary that mark Jen out as a unique legend of the updating world.

Only 4? She's losing her edge.
Any chance of a prize list please Mr JC?
Oh and more appropriate pics of cats in extremis, as appropriate.

Exit already! Within three hands of the action finally kicking off, we lose shortest stacked Andrey Chesnokov. With under 20k, those chips were always going in right off the bat, and they did, with the surprisingly great holding of
. He was called by Salvatore Pengue with
.
Flop:
Turn:
River:
And any dreams he may have had of shortstack comebacks hit the road. Still, €17,300 should make it better.
We may be getting more photos like this today, sadly, as for reasonable reasons there is no flash and we're not allowed among the tightly packed tables. Fair's fair on the players. We have been promised a Media Rail, but so far it's only been running ten minutes and the rail is ten deep and shouting, elbowing and generally making life difficult. I remember covering the final stages of Barcelona last year and I have never received so many shoves, minor bruises, elbows etc. from players railing friends or just gawkers who don't really know what's going on but there's a crowd so it must be good... you get the idea. Deep breath.

1 - €1,361,000
2 - €792,000
3 - €455,000
4 - €351,000
5 - €292,000
6 - €227,000
7 - €178,000
8 - €119,000
9-10 - €74,400
11-12 - €49,600
13-14 - €37,200
15-16 - €29,700
17-24 - €24,700
25-32 - €19,800
33-40 - €17,300
Are the prizes (thanks Pokerstars). No, I don't get a cable, but my prototype dialup card is functioning enough to occasionally break through with information. Or JC's laptop becomes my medium, channelling all the pieces of information he misses while looking for excellent pictures of cats.

Yes, EPT live should be up and running covering the Feature Table which features Stephen Chidwick and Chad Brown... we have the feed in the press room, which is as close as we're getting to the action, as you can see:
Many languages, class commentators (Benjo, Jan and George just three of them if you're French or German).
