Firstly I would like to offer my condolenses to the family of Brendon. Contrary to public opinion i work hard during the week and missed the news on the forum, and was devastated to hear the news on Brendon. The first time I met Brendon was at last years APAT competition in Newcastle, staying at the same hotel and following breakfast we were kicking our heels with Des, Mel and the team at about 1030 and I ordered my coffee from the bar and turned to Brendon and asked would you like a drink, he did not hesitate for a second before replying.........Bacardi and Coke please. I spent the next couple of hours chatting and pushing his wheelchair up the hills of Newcastle, you'll be missed my friend RIP.

Well to coin a phrase, one I did not totally believe in, a chip and a chair came to fruition yesterday down at BB7. With the blinds at 800 / 1600 my stack had just been demolished by ChipRich, leaving me with a solitary 1000 chip. I pondered long and hard over the agonising decision and threw it in with 7-3 o/s. Two callers hit my seven and trebled up. Horror upon horror, the broke the table up at that very moment. I struggled to carry my 3 chips over to table 4 seat 1,the one that had seen the demise of my mate Pelham Boy earlier. The strategy was easy, first chance in the went, and as I was UTG it passed all the way round to ShellDiver in the BB, his monster 4-7 o/s was totally dominated by my 4-J o/s,I had a few more chips. I managed to accumulate approx 24,000 over the next 20 minutes, and looked down in the BB at my Big Slick. Hoping for some action a chap called ( I Think) Padraig pushed with his stack and I called. He revealed Q - 10..........Cmon. Nope he flopped both a Queen and a Ten !!!!!!!!! Down to 3,000 chips again. Strategy decision time again, Push, push and push, four hands later I'm back up to 24,000 and playing poker again, much to the amusement of Brummieboy sat to my left.
The ex cellant dealers at the G Casino then sent me on a steady if not spectacular rush over the next few levels, aided by AA,KK, and various high hands, before long I was sat at the final table with an above average chip stack. Le Knave doubled me up early doors when his JJ was covered by my KK, and the same hand was responsible for knocking out Dino 1980.
Life was fairly comfortable from there on, until the heads up with Gamblor21 where the chip lead moved one way then the other until my chip and a chair ride took the finishing pot with J9 suited.

So if you here the phrase " a chip and a chair" ..............believe

Usual thanks to Tighty and the dealers and staff at the G Casino, plus all of my fellow members of Blonde who made yesterday a real treat.

it was me actually. i was hoping for a call. I had decided before a card was dealt that i was going to push here with any kind of playable hand, provided i was first into the pot. the reasoning was that the three players to act after me had more chips than me, and were in a position to double me up (i figure if you are going to get lucky, you might as well get the max out of it, rather than a few thousand.) Obviously running into someone with AK was a bit unlucky.

you got your own back a few hands later when you bust my QQ with ?? (cant actually remember), and then your QJ against the mighty A7 (lol).

Was a pleasure to deal to you. From when you got stacked with your with AK v Q10 only to get the same guy back again about three hands later up to the final table.

The three people screaming "Deal aces versus kings!!!" sort of summed up how long the heads up lasted for. Tongue
