A year ago Platini was mouthing off at Wenger ;

"I do not like the system of Arsene Wenger.

"In France, Italy and Spain it is easy to buy with money the best players at 14, 15 or 16. I don't like that."

He added: "If the best clubs buy the best 15 or 16 players that is finished for all the clubs in Europe.

 "If my son is playing at Millwall and at 16 Manchester come in for this player then when will Millwall have a good team?"

Then he turned on Chelsea and ManUtd ;

"Look at Chelsea and Manchester United's debt. Fifa and Uefa have to do something to combat that, because today the ones who cheat are going on to win. Is Champions League success built around who has the most money? I think so. It is run on credit now and it annoys me. We have to find ways to help other clubs sort out their problems. Defeat must no longer mean financial disaster. We have to find the means, together with the European Club Association, to help clubs sort out their financial problems."

Now it's back to Wenger ;

Platini said:

“I like to talk about football, him [Wenger] about business. We must stop with Wenger and all that.”

The Frenchman added that he hopes video assistance never comes into football:

“It would make me happy that Arsene Wenger never sees it.”

Apparently concerned that he hadn’t made it clear he was targeting Wenger, he made another bizarre comment when discussing CFR Cluj’s shock win away to Roma in the Champions League:

“That is what makes football so great. It is what people like Wenger do not want, little clubs beating the big clubs, because they want their business.”

If Wenger is so interested in business, it's in the beautiful business.

Yeah, he manages to lose some decent points in the middle of all that.
