Calm down! Its just a programme thats on channel 4 now.

Its not my normal type of viewing, but im out numbered 8 - 1 in the office tomorrow so this was my homework so i had something to discuss with the girls

All about the purity pledges in America.

Its upset me already. It should be called how to emotionally handicap your daughter for life.

Then i thought, bet this will get an interesting discussion going on blonde.

Any one else watching?

Is it just me, or is this just going to ruin their lifes? They will have nothing to compare anything to, they miss out on the fun of finding the one, and they seperate themselves from the real world??

Discuss....

OMG - drove me absolutely nutty.

IF you hold hands / kiss and "god forbid" sleep with someone before you're married you have officially committed adultery i.e. broken no.8 of the 10 commandments.
Forget the fact that you haven't even met the man you're going to marry yet. You are still and adulterer.

The one who broke her pledge basically will need years of counselling to get over the guilt that they have loaded upon her and has since been shunned - such christian behaviour - my word i thought the whole thing was about forgiveness?

And then the whole I've chosen a better standard of life / better breed of person.... Euch. Didn't realise we were back in 1930s.

The brain washing that was prevalent was of such an extraordinary level that I am gobsmacked. But then again this is a country which still teaches creationism and may soon have a VP who believes in that drivel...... RANT OVER

I've yet to have one of these judgemental 'Christians' show me where in the New Testament it says it is mans' job to judge or punish. If their guess is right & that is the type of god we've got, I want nothing to do with it.

The holding hands bit was unbelieveable.

Only surpassed by the fact that after waiting for 20 years to have a boyfriend, they all married the first man they met.

Did you see the weasel? Im sure he was actually a rodent. Proposed after 8 weeks. Of the 6 month engagement he spent 5 months posted out with the army.

[  ] Im sure they will live happily ever after

Ridiculous.
Have you people no moral fibre?  You fail to see the long term picture.  This is a straightforward opportunity for everyone to respect their own bodies and the commandments and your reward will come in a lifetime of fullfilment.  All you have to do is forego the short term cost of having sex with a different bird every week for 5 years and some fantastic head at the most unlikely of moments.  Is that such a high price to pay?

I don't like programmes like these, they look for the crazees and put them on camera.

I feel that in the U.K. we are presented a very skewed view of the Christian right. Go out into the street today and try to find one person who would like John McCain to be the next president of the U.S. You'll have a tough time.

So why does he have a look-in over the pond, with seemingly half the population being up for him (and indeed Bush the last two times.)

Is this true?

Forced marriage at the next blonde bash is the only solution.

We cant have this behaviour sullying the purity of blondes in general.
