I thought Mayorga was poor.  He should have won it comfortably, as I don't rate Mosley that highly.

Unbelievably, Mosley was ahead on two of the judges' cards after 11 rounds.  That I don't understand.

Really? Thats pathetic, the KO saved the judges more than Mosley then. I had Mayorga 4 rounds ahead minimum.

Mayorga is an awful boxer but a great nutter slugger, I think he fought the correct fight against a 37year old Mosley, had it been about 5 years ago he would have got whooped.

I dont rate Mosley that highly either, I think De La Hoya beat him both times in their encounters despite what the judges thought.

I remember when Mosley fought Vernon Forrest, and Mosley was meant to be the next big thing.  Forrest completely outclassed him and made Mosley look distinctly average (well, not one of the top, top fighters).  Winky Right did pretty much the same.

I avoided this thread yesterday and watched the replay last night. To be honest i was wondering during the fight what had justified this thread, as it was a pretty mediocre fight that had Mayorga winning, but the finish was well worth it. I can't see how Mosley was ahead which made the KO more exciting.

When I found out he was ahead on the score cards it really took the shine off the victory.

Although my missus enjoyed it and I shared with her some of my fave boxing moments on youtube, which included:

Fanman parachuting into the Riddick Bowe vs Evander Holyfield match
Tyson winning the world heavyweight title for the first time
Bomber Graham getting KO'd by Julian Jackson (Thinly veiled 'I know Bomber Graham and have trained with him' in brackets here btw, but it was an amazingly cruel moment in sport)
Danny Williams winning with a broken arm
Morales vs Barrerra 1
Bruno winning the world title
Everything Nigel Benn ever did
