Brendan's Goodbye.

Many of you were unable to attend Brendan's Funeral today. So I've taken a few photographs of the Church, (before the Funeral), & I thought it'd be nice to tell you all about how the Funeral went.

Tom & Lucy - as you will see - follow every word about Brendan on blonde, so when I've finished Posting, please feel free to Post your thoughts, &, maybe, say goodbye if you wish.

The Funeral took place at St Nicholas Church, Worth, near Crawley.

It is an achingly pretty part of Sussex, & the Church is one of the oldest known Saxon Churches in Britain.

As you'll see from these 'photos, it seemed all so very appropriate for Brendan.

As you approach the Church, this lovely Cottage, seemingly guarding the entrance, welcomes you. It's roof tiles must be 2" thick, it's an extraodinary place.

To the right of the Entrance, sits this drive, which leads to the Bishop's dwelling.

The Church proper is approched via this Lychgate. It was rebuilt after a fire destroyed it 20 years ago, but the craftsmanship is "as original", & everything is handmade,

Through the Lychgate, this imposing avenue of trees greets you. These are known as the "10 Apostles", apparently. They are centuries old.

Another view of that awesome avenue of trees. Imagine the cortege, carrying the coffin through them, it was so dignified & fitting, somehow.

This tree was huge, one of the tallest I've ever seen in Britain.
