hi,
i'm too lazy to go & queue at the pc world help desk so if anyone can help it'd be much appreciated...
i got a new toshiba laptop a few months back, all was fine, but now when i try to go online it won't connect even though it says it's connected in that little status box on the toolbar.
i'm kinda hoping this is something really straightforward - any ideas?

I had similar problems with mine-when your saying its connected-is it saying connected to the internet- i.e is there a little globe in front of the 2 wee monitors in the status bar- or is it just connected to the router?? i.e 2 wee blank monitors, one in front of the other?? who is your broadband with??

Hi Julian, I have had the same problem recently.

I know this might sound silly but check your clock is set to the correct time, in particular the date and year.

My laptop was running gash the other day and I realised it was coz I had changed the power options to "power saving mode" while it was not connected to the mains and I forgot to change it back.

Ran a hard disk compression before I figured it out.
