What.....But I Fell......

Hi,

A friend of mine won £600 by betting on tier.

15 minutes later a manager came over and told him the couiper had made a mistake and made him give the money back?
(With help from intimidation from security)

Is this legal to do once a bet has been paid out?

Then after some arguing they banned him as he left.

Sould I tell him to get the gaming commision involved?

Thanks
Steve

He was paid incorrectly, and got barred for acting like a prat when the casino tried to correct the error?

Scandalous.

no.

a dealer has made a mistake, your friend should not benefit from this just tell him next time take it like a adult and give back the money without crying or trying to fight

Just had a reply.

They are definately aloud to do this. Apparently in the CUB rules what ever they may be.

Just asked him the interesting question of what would happen if your friend had then lost the £600 or even worse span it up to £6000

Gets better.

If your friend had lost the money in the next spin, the casino would offer a repayment deal but if no joy they would be banned nationally.

Got to love roulette.

I got paid wrong once, straight to the cashier's desk I went, and then straight home lol

Didn't know things were that bad, in hindsight I should have just gone straight home and come back to cash the chips another day.

Yes yes, I grimmed a poor casino. Bad tank bad tank.

No it wasn't. You told him the right answer. He didn't want to hear that. Please, in future, just tell people that casino managers are horrible thieving b*stards. Thank you.

And yes, for what it is worth, you got paid out in error. I've never understood why people believe that because it's a casino, that it must be okay to keep the money when something is done incorrectly. If I make a mistake, and you keep the proceeds because I paid you wrong, that makes you a thief. Don't care who you are or what the reason. A little bit of common sense and honesty never hurt anybody. They caught on to their mistake and the diplomatic and honest thing to do is hand back the money you never ought to have had in the first place. Sorry if that's what you didn't want to hear.

Please let me know if you can find anything in the Gambling commission regulations that make it acceptable to steal, though. I'll take it all back, if so.

The bit where they let drunk punters come into their joint and let them spunk the last of their hard-earned cash on a game which they know they have no chance of beating in the long-run.  Wink

Yeah, I know the punter 'chooses' (if that's a word that can be applied to drunk people) to gamble their money, but if by a random mistake the balance for once falls in favour of the punter, few people are shedding a tear for the poor hard done by casino.

Sorry, I have a very cynical view of casinos. Getting banned from every casino prob the best thing that could happen to anyone that throws money after the spinning ball.
