set the scene...Its the weekly poker bash at the local pub..I'm well known at the pub and have finished in the money quite a lot. I suffer a real bad beat about 10 minutes before the rebuy is over but i still have over 20k in chips...for the rebuy i get 10k in chips for £5 but need 5k or less to do so...i win a hand, lose a hand and basically fold till the end of the rebuy which is a 15 minute break. at break i get an add on of 10k for another £5 and get myself a drink from the bar...

i come back after the 15 minutes (i'd been outside and chatted to other players) to find i only have 18k left in chips  noticing this i call over the TD and mention that ive had my add on but would not have left myself only 8k as i would have pushed 3k in the rebuy period to get myself another 10k. a couple of regular players on the table agree by saying that that is what they would know me to do...td does a money count then a chip count...the chips are right based on the money in the pot...i eff a lot saying that someone had taken my chips and that they were cheating aunts

theres nothing really i can do so really what i must do is have a good count of my chips before leaving the table in future

PS oh and BTW i cashed finishing 3rd Cheesy

Yea in pub games like that with little scrotes hanging round im sure u got done there but its prob best like u said to count your chips up b4 u go on break and even tell your neighbour how much u had then u have witness's then!

Well done on cashing! Prob a bit of justice for the grimming.

I has something similar happen to me once in a casino game.  Came back off the break (when they'd done full chip counts for a live update) and had about 3k less than I thought I'd had (although I'd not counted the chips properly).  I spoke to the TD who told me all the chips were correct and I must be mistaken.  I had to insist they check again as I knew there had been a mistake and eventually they accepted that there had been an error and I was given the extra chips I should have had.

I now make a point of always counting my chips before leaving the table for a break.

well done on your cash btw!!!

At a casino, can you 'insist' that they check the cameras, etc., if you think that your stack has been pillaged in your absence?  Is there a general 'rule' as to what happens here, or is it up to each casino to do what they want?

I always count my stack before I leave the table, but that's easy for me to do as I normally have a short enough stack to use my fingers and occasionally toes.
