I like football, so the sight of Gomes is starting to tilt me. Paul Robinson must be thinking lol.
I dunno I got slated for saying how bad Gormless was a few weeks ago, hes not bad hes fuking usless.
You got slated by Nem to be fair, his opinion lacks any shred of credibility when it comes to Spurs, so it doesnt count.

PS. If I was in the fraud squad, i would be nicking Gomes for impersonating a goalkeeper. He is fucking useless and has to go.

He was shite, but a million miles better than Gomes, I hope Harry gives Cesar a run in the side now and gets Alnwick back from his loan at Carlisle ... Then in January SIGN A FKIN KEEPER !!

The Carragher/King discussion is pretty flawed. Carragher has made the most of the limited talent he has, he obviously has a wonderful attitude towards playing the game but he doesn't do anything particularly well, wouldn't want him in the Swans side ;-).
King is obviously much more talented and has looked comfortable in international football, something carragher never did. If you managed Liverpool you'd probably rather have Carragher, although it's marginal. If you managed anyone else you'd be much better off with King and it's not really that close.

But Kings knee's mean he wont ever play often enough to be a major asset to any club. You can have all the talent in the world but if your body is injured and you cant play it dont matter. I am not sure you can say carra has limited talent
limited based on what? being one of the best defenders for 10 years in this country, playing consistently without major injuries? as apposed to king who will never amount to anything which is a shame. Redknapp would swop king for carra any day.

WP Sir
AFAIK defending is all about funnilly enough defending , carra is definitely in the if in doubt, launch it category but he aint payed to ponce around on the ball and wear fancy boots he's there to stop the ball going in the net , and trust me he does everything thats physically possible to achieve this in every game

AFAIK??? It's the only forum acronym I don't know, I think.
obv. I was pulling your leg a bit in the first post, I just thought the dismissive tone towards King was harsh given that he is a very talented footballer (acid's good point about the injuries aside) Be nice if he could stay fit for a few seasons I genuinely think he has all the attributes to be one of the premiership's best defenders. Carragher has a done a magnificent job for Liverpool, no one can knock that.

It was me who christened him "gormless" or "Oh really how gormless" to give him his full name.

As Far As I Know
Yea was been dismissive because of King , because according to our resident blinkered spud supporter, Carra aint a patch on King apart from break dancing and not getting injured it tilted me slightly , when it coincided with a badbeat on my poker table , i just could'nt hold back

I'm still laughing at such classics as "McClaren will be a success as England manager", "Gomes will be great for Spurs", "Torres is the Spanish
Andy
Johnson
", "Alonso is another average Spanish squad player" and my recent favourite... "I'd rather have Bent than Keane".
Next it'll be, "I'd rather win the Carling Cup than the league! No really I would...."
I seem to recall Nem claiiming Ledley King was better than Carra also , that was a LOL moment
The only thing Carra is betting than King at is break dancing and not getting injured.
You sir need to remove the blinkers WTF has King ever done to be mentioned in the same bracket as Carra ? Nothing would be the answer !
Carra is an immense player who has dragged Liverpool through umpteen matches with just pure guts and determination, any budding centre half needs to look at Carra and take stock , 110% effort every match , body on the line etc.....
You will come back probably and say King blah blah blah , i ain't having it , it's not even a debate , Carra is different gravy
