and is it possible for a company to phone you and you end up with the charge?

There's a trick they do were it will ring when you answer the call then it's costing you a think so hang up quickly lol

This is puting me on life tilt lately. Bizarrely I don't get them at home but I do get them at work on a private number which is only known to my colleagues, is not in any directory, and shows as a private number when I call out. Suggests to me that they are using random dialing machines. I actually thought these were illeagal but maybe that was just an episode of the Simpsons. I have tried speaking to them but they usually hang up, I have got the company name a couple of times by pretending to be interested but to be honest I never get round to actually trying to do anything about it.

do you have a company creditcard ? if so thats where they prob got your details from, my old company used to buy them by the thousands for a few pence each, all legal aslong as you have ticked the little box dowb the bottom.
