What to say....really feel for you. Could you not run your business from the UK with regular time spent in Cyprus to top up your need for relaxation in the sun.

Whatever route you decide to take I hope it all works out for you. To be brave enough to follow a dream is something I have never been able to do so I have huge admiration for you.

Moving a family is always a lot tougher than it seems and being homesick for the first year is natural.

You have your business and love the environment you now have.  Does she have any interests or hobbies which allows her to meet people?

I think that it takes 3 years to settle from such a move and that is a lot to ask.  This is from the voice of experience, I moved my wife from the USA to England and it was tough on her.  If your wife does not have a hobby/interest it will be tough adjusting.  My wife got into horse riding and this made a big difference.

James. You know whats what, so I can leave a lot of stuff unsaid....

It's a tough break, but where you're missus and your boy are concerned, you have to do what you have to do, end of. (Anyway, you're never going to find another beauty to love you now that you're fat and old.)

Take a little advice from a fool. If you're coming back, do it with a good heart. Have no regrets. Worse things could happen, believe me.
