anyone got one of these ?
specifically what I am interested in is those "non techy" people that maybe use them, with a linux interface.
-do you find it easy to use ? -is it quicker than windows xp? (i think yes) -do you wish it ran windows xp ?
i like the idea of running these underpowered machines with a slimmed down os. just wondering how practical it really is for normal people.

Ive got an Asus EEE1000 80Gb hard drive Intel Atom Processor 1Gb Ram Windows XP Ridiculously impressive piece of kit, Im meant to use it to VPN into work, but really I use it for poker. Two tabling on pokerstars in the pub on Sunday night and it runs beautifully, until the 6th pint of Guinness made me shove 40k in with A8 into KK. I would definately recommend one of these, and but I would go for the XP version rather than Linux.

I have an Advent 4211, which is basically an MSI Wind. The reason they all have 1Gb or Ram is so that they qualify for the cheap licence version of XP, but its enough to make things work quite nicely.

I ran it on normal settings, the Netbook has enough allocated graphics memory to cope with the higher resolution textures. It might run a little better on low settings though.

Ok, now I just need to see if I can get a decent 3G broadband signal in my local watering hole LOL Cheers, Dougie.
