Poker Cruise
«

I've been thinking about buying a ticket for the cruise if I don't win one through the Ladbrokes satellites. As well as a nice range of comps, I think there's gonna be some nice cash games on the go.
I've played 5 finals, but no luck. Can't seem to qualify, but I'd love to go.
Has any1else considered this. I know a few folk who have already bought the ticket. I reckon it's gonna be ace and be worth splashing out to go around the caribbean playing non-stop poker.
The ticket/s (for 2) is worth $5500.
So that's $2250 split between to.
ie. £1311 each.
I've won over a grand (not sure how?!) from the satellites, so thought I could use that to treat myself.
Anyone interested?

Go for it Sonopy- if u have cashed that much from sats then why not ? The idea of a sat is to get enough to get into the event and you've managed it so you should definately treat yourself . Not if it means missing the Jan Blonde bash tho.

Snoopy,
I dont think it's a good idea, at the mo u should be consolidating your position and increasing your bankroll, always next year for the cruise when you understand your position a little better.
This should be something to focus on in your plans for the next 12 months.
Just my opinion
gl whatever you decide.

i agree with dewi to be honest, consolidate.
it's a big chunk of your bankroll and you still don't know how you are gonna do as a pro yet.
Put some aside and try for the sats again.
BTW what ever happened to Jammer?

IIRC what your bankroll is you can easily afford a grand out of it. I left work to play $50 sngs's after playing a grand total of 140 $50 sngs, with a $4K roll 15 months ago and I'm still managing to not have to go back
. A huge roll is obviously nice but not totally necessary on the internet, you can just go down in limits and up the number of tables you play if you have to. Cash NL may be somewhat different to sngs but I'm sure I could survive playing $50 buy in NL if I absolutely had to and what roll do you need for that? $2-3K seems plenty? I could be talking nonsense tho not being a cash game player. If the worst comes to the worst you can always become a low buy in, multitabling, bottom feeding, scum bag sng player like myself

Okay. Thx for the views folks. I've been receiving a mixed response on this one.
Personally, I think that £1300 for an all inclusive poker cruise is pretty good value.
However, Dewi is right. I'll keep plugging away at the sats and then reassess in a month's time. If my bankroll is on the up, then maybe I'll treat myself.
It's just that everyone who went on it last year said they had the time of the lives.
