Player notes and the Data Protection Act

Ok so iave had a thought after reading Heid's post on notemaking. The data protection Act gives individuals the right to access any information held about them. Does this include notes other players have made on me ?

On the face of it I think the answer is probably yes, but there must be a way around it somehow.

Petty sure the act only protects people not their aliases. If you can play online with anonymity then you can’t complain when someone stores data about your alter ego?
Someone in the know please answer this!

Pretty sure DPA only affects data an organisation has on you. Player notes are on a players hard drive not the Poker sites software

Does that mean all the people ive ever written about in my diary (if i had 1) can have access to it or do they need to prove they are in it first? lol

The original data protection act covered electronic data only, so your diary was safe. It was amended at some point if i remember correctly to include other stored information in an organised format. My memory of this is hazy, its a few years since I looked over it.

Simply put, indiivduals do not need to register under the act. And only certain forms of data apply. Someones notes on a personal PC about an alias poker playing habits almost certainly does not!
