Fancied making a thread as it brought me a bit of luck last time if I remember. One of the things I missed most whilst in Vegas were my greyhounds and greyhound racing in general. But now i'm back and its on TV tonight Grin Grin Looking forward to it and here are my picks. Gone for a few favourites but there is also alot of value in there, already got my bets on this morning to try and beat the prices.. Lemme know your fancies..

7.40 Birchfield Hero   6/1 Corals.  Only thing I don't like is that the dog hasn't had a look round the track. Fancy it would be alot shorter on its next outing round Romford and could do the business tonight anyway. Nightshade is the forecast maker.

8.00 Masterful. Haven't had a bet in this one as its a maiden and nothing really stands out except the favourite which is too short to back.

8.15 Be All   11/8 Hills. Dog is a hurdling machine and is in great form, shouldn't get caught and has held off a couple of the dogs in his race recently fair and square. 11/8 is early price and i doubt it will go off this big.

8.35 Vatican Jinky  7/4 Hills. Nice enough draw, slow starter in 2, should pop out and not look back.

8.50  Bubbly Kate  7/4 Hills. I love this bitch and she is a marathon machine. None of these dogs are able to stay the way she does and as long as she keeps in touch, which she should as she actually finds some early toe sometimes, she can mow them down on the final lap and a half. Again expect her to go off shorter than 7/4.

9.10 Bonville Stan   7/2 Totesport. Its 3/1 Ladbrokes and shorter elsewhere. Think this dog is more than capable of coming from behind any of these dogs and here's hoping for a clear run round the first and the excitement can begin.

9.25  Blues Wish  6/1 Ladbrokes. This bitch's last line of form at this track stood out for me, getting trouble she managed to run up a decent time and was running on to the line over the 750m trip. Hopefully can have a clean run race today and we can see what she can do.

9.45 FINAL. This was a tough race tbh, and I decided to go with value. Brickfield Dream in trap 4 is an absolute certainty to lead and although the race is full of stayers I cant stop myself from getting involved with the 10/1 on offer with Ladbrokes. The dog is going to steal an early lead and although he does stop he has improved for every run round this track and could well make all at big price.

I've had singles on all the races with double on Bubbly kate and Be All and treble on Bubbly Kate, Be All and Vatican Jinky.

I know nothing about Greyhounds but have some money burning a hole in my betfair account and have backed the three highest prices dogs on your recommendation, so good luck.

Welcome back Rooks - on my break at work but will have a look at the card when I get in later.

Small wagers like before? $10 or summat?

Could do mate, everyone pick a dog in each race then and $10 to my stars account if you wanna play.. Where your dog finishes is the points you will get and lowest points win.

right here we go, could be a cracking nights racing at the essex track and also across at wimbledon the oaks begins shame that isn't televised also.

anyway my tips for tonights tv races

7.40pm

not the easiest of races to fathom out, the favourite milldean buster ran a great race last time out but is prone to break slowly at times and i think that could be his undoing and looks a lay to me on betfair. birchfield hero (rooks fancy) is obviously a good animal round its home track hall green but romford really is a track you need a look at so i believe a lack of practice could possibly be his undoing. my selection is t4 glasha woods, predominantly a sprinter i expect him to lead at the first bend and not be caught. he's in great form winning his last 3 races at harlow and has had 10 races around romford successful in 3 of them so he knows the track.9/2 at hills this morning.

8.00pm

unusually a maiden open race being shown live on sky. not a great deal of 6 bend form to go on here with the majority of these stepping up from 4 bends for the first time. the favourite masterful has some nice times over 4 bends but is to short for my liking. preference here is for t4 westmead zest, she's been running in better grade and i fancy a repeat of  35.78 time of 2 weeks ago in the essex vase heats to be good enough here. 11/2 looks value with corals.

8.15pm

hurdles races are usually races to be a little cautious with but this race looks a little different. most of these are experienced hurdlers with very exposed formlines. and whatever formlines you look at you come up with the same answer. t1 be all looks like he has a great chance, he holds most of these on recent form and i can see him leading all the way tonight. stevensons rocket and bubbly magic will battle it out for second. 11/8 this morning cut into 11/10, could maybe go odds on.

8.35pm

this looks like a match between t1 vatican jinky and t4 droopys nelson.  the later is in good form but i expect t1 vatican jinky to hopefully lead at the first bend and hold them all of to the winning line to banish memories of his vase semi final defeat where he totally missed the lids. 7/4 with hills.

8.50pm

great to see a 10 bend race on the telivised card. would of loved to have seen greyhound of the year candidate flying winner in this and but for his injury i think he would have been. his absences leaves the door open for one of the best staying bitches around to take the prize. t1 bubbly kate can outstay the early paced t3 genesis alix round the final 2 bends. there is a litttle doubt about her due to her lack of runs recently but i still feel as long as she is sound she will have to much staying power for these and im on at 7/4 with hills. i think with a recent run she would be an odds on shot so 7/4 may be value.

9.10pm

my nap of the night runs in this. at first glance this looks a tough race but on greater examination t6 lethal freddie looks to be a good bet. perfectly housed in t6 outside a middle to rails runner he should enjoy a clear run to the 1st bend, as long as he stays wide there and out of trouble i see him leading of the 2nd bend and running away from them. his recent spin round wimbledon was eyecatching and his romford form stands up to most of these. rooks fancy in t1 bonville stan loves the track with all his 8 success's coming here at his home track. 2/1 lethal freddie with the tote

9.25pm

an 8 bend affair  where a number of dogs are making there debut of the distance i fancy proven stayer t4 seamis gambler to land the spoils.none will be finishing faster and i expect him to add to his 8 wins from 14 starts at the track. t6 brimardon star looks interesting and if getting loose early might take some catching if he truly stays 8 bends. 9/4 seamis gambler with tote for me.

9.45pm

the big race of the night and one i looked forward to every year when romford was my local track in my youth. although the withdrawl of t3 makes it a 5 dog race it doesnt subtract from the quality of the line up. bubbly totti is the class act and if this was at any other track he would be odds on, but its not. he struggles with the boxes here and inveriably finds himself behind early. this dog has so much class though he can win from the front or the back. t4 brickfield dream will lead, the local runner is in the form of his life but i cant see him holding on as all the other 4 dogs see this trip out 100% so i think he needs a mountain of trouble behind to hold on.
i backed t2 sherries boy ante post at 16's and need a top 3 placing to collect but am hopeful he could win. if he leads t1 and totti fails to turn handy on the outside then the race could be made for sherries. totti would struggle to pick sherries boy up if hes behind it thats for sure!
7/1 was available this morning for sherries boy at ladbrokes but 5/1 is more generally available. i've also had a savour on totti at 5/4.

over at wimbledon and the oaks get on kilelton rose ante post at 8/1 generally everywhere, she is a class bitch and should get better and better as the competition progresses. if you like your ante post prices bigger maybe try  a little each way ante post on olygirl at around 50/1, she has been running in staying races and now dropped back to 4 bends has ran some eyecatching trials so looks to like the track.she could be one to back then lay further on in the competition.
