Weird-ass limit hand from yesterday. I kept raising cos I thought "there's no way he has Queens". But by the 12th raise he convinced me that's all he could have! I have to shut down on the turn I think cos the only other viable hand I could think of was perhaps

Should i have kept raising, or did I perhaps raise too many times. Perhaps this is just a freak hand that doesn't really need analysis, I dunno. (No reads, except after 8 hands he was 75/25, with 50 3Bet, making me think he would certainly 3 bet QQ)

(It's actually €2/4 limit but I have to convert to party poker style hands for it to import to Hold em Manager)

in limit if you dont lose the maximum set over set you didn't play it right.  So you shouldve kept raising till he called or all the money went in

I disagree with this. In limit, generally people only go above 6 bets if they have the nuts. To get all the money in here I'd theoretically have to raise over 30 times. Surely by raise 20 you'd be a little worried about QQ if not at bet 12? Obv I wish I had done this in this scenario but I dunno...

Are you telling me I should've kept raising in this pot? Admittedly 3 hands have me beat not just one. But same principle. In NL all the money is going in. But here I actually felt I lost a couple of bets too many...

The only reason to stop betting the flop here is to checkraise the turn

Yeah, I'd have done this with a blank, but if he 5 bet me at this point, I just call. He either has deuces or Queens. But you'd have to give weighting queens as deuces would at least recognised it's beaten by 2 hands. Most ppl would not play any other hand like this.

Do you play fixed limit dude?

I used to play it all the time.  There is no point in posting freakish hands to justify weak play in limit.  There is obv a thought process where you have to consider "what does he think I have" given the agression you have shown as well as your view of what he has given his aggresion.  As these ranges narrow you have can choose to stop raising, but given the generally huge aggression of online limit today, I don't think you should allow an opponent to gain control of a hand fearing that he has an overset.

Okay, thank you for the explanation Smiley
