I've been trying to get to sleep for the last half hour or so with no joy, mainly because I've been thinking about this and smiling to myself
I felt compelled to get up and write a bit more on this thread to go with the 'congrats' etc I've already posted.
Firstly, Dawn is a relative newcomer to blonde, only really become active in 2007. Despite this, in my eyes, Dawn typifies everything that is 'blonde' and the place would be a lot less rich without her. I have seen and heard it said elsewhere on more than one occasion that blonde is 'cliquey' and unwelcoming to newcomers. People like Dawn are proof positive that you get back what you put in round here.
On a personal level, Dawn has been a terrific friend to me through what has been a pretty rough year or two. I particularly recall when I was having a bad day earlier this year, and another blondeite PMd me to ask if I was ok. I said I'd been on life tilt earlier in the day, but that I'd spoken to Dawn and was feeling much better. Their reply was simply 'Laxie = life tilt sponge'. Dawn, I'm so grateful for all the support you have given to me, and I only wish I could repay you one tenth of that somehow. I'm forever in your debt.
I'm also so glad of the opportunity to post this stuff thanks to Laxie's entry in the HOF. All to often in life we don't say the good stuff that should be said about people until it's too late.
